How I'm Creating My Own Career (as a 17-year-old)
My Vision for Merging Academia, Content Creation, and Business into a single career path.

I'm only 17-years-old, and I feel like I've already found my path.
Over the years, I've considered countless careers—firefighter, pilot, physician assistant, full-fledged doctor, trader, and even a professional Fortnite player (yes, I used to have a Fortnite channel).
But after years of exploration, one passion has remained constant: content creation.
Content creation is the art of taking ideas and making them valuable to other people through videography, photography, and designing.
However, it's not just about posting on social media.
At its core, effective content creation always starts with writing. It's the invisible framework that holds everything together.
Yet, when people hear the term "writer", they often picture one of two people:
an academic who publishes essays, papers, and journals.
a creative who crafts fictional novels, scripts, or songs.
But writing is so much more. It's the foundation of every form of media.
That self-help book you read about 'atomic' habits? Writing.
The YouTube video explaining how to start a business? Writing in script form.
The podcast you listen to on your commute? Writing in the form of structured questions and bullet points.
That Instagram carousel with motivational visuals? Writing in the form of graphics.
That email you got in your inbox promoting a product for a brand you only signed up for to receive a coupon? Copywriting.
I didn't realize this until I started to dive into the business/entrepreneurship rabbit hole that's been trending recently.
After hearing all of these entrepreneurship guru's preach about the power of copywriting and tending to human psychology, it made me realize that writing is more than just words.
Effective writing influences everything we consume.
My Unique Path as a Writer
When it comes to what I want to make a living doing for the rest of my life, I don't want to choose between my academic-half and my creative-half—I want to merge the two.
My goal is to combine science-backed research with engaging storytelling. I want to write about everything I love—health & wellness, self-improvement, psychology, philosophy, lifestyle design, just to name a few—in a way that educates and inspires.
Essentially, I'm blending the careers of:
Andrew Huberman - Conducting and simplifying human health research.
Brendan Ruh (Santa Cruz Medicinals) - Building a health company backed by a personal brand.
Brez - Documenting my journey through content (vlogging and value-tainment videos).
Dan Koe - Turning my personal interests into valuable insights for others.
Ali Abdaal - Teaching others through online guides and shared experiences.
This requires me to essential create my own career. How am I going to do this you may ask? By combining these 3 paths:
Academic Path – Study public health and engage in holistic health & science-based self-improvement research.
Creative Path – Share insights and document my journey through engaging content.
Business Path – Build two ventures:
A health brand that develops products based on my research.
A personal brand business that offers books, courses, coaching, and other products/services based on my own proven systems.
Some might call this overly ambitious, but I call it a blueprint—my North Star for my career.
This essay isn't just words on a page. It's a commitment to my future self—a promise that I will work tirelessly to turn this vision into reality.
I know there isn't that much actional steps for you in this letter, and it's more so some random kid online yapping about his delusional dreams, but I hope my story was just a little bit inspiring.
If you're another teenage navigating your future, I hope this gives you clarity, inspiration, or at the very least, a reminder that your dreams are worth pursuing.
